While the name may be new, “the real core DNA of the show remains the same,” showrunner Jon Brockett previously told VF. “We’re not really looking at this as a jumping-off point to veer away from anything that we’ve done in the past.”
That means that despite the new moniker, the Actor Awards 2026 remain “for actors, by actors,” as the awards continue to be voted on by members of SAG-AFTRA, the labor union that combines the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
The ceremony is one of the last stops on the awards season circuit, as the countdown to the Oscars 2026 begins, and this year’s group of Actor Awards 2026 nominees includes 2026 Oscar nominees Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Emma Stone (Bugonia), Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Michael B. Jordan (Sinners).
But before the Actor Awards 2026 broadcast begins, the red carpet will be the first stop for SAG-AFTRA members to show off their ’fits, champion their craft, and celebrate their nominated colleagues. With a mix of actors from the worlds of both film and television, viewers can expect to see a range of red-carpet fashion, from dramatic, over-the-top dresses to subtle suiting and surprising silhouettes. For those watching at home, the Actor Awards 2026 red carpet will stream live on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET. The ceremony begins an hour later, with Kristen Bell as host. Harrison Ford will also be honored with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.
