King Charles has announced a major change on his Sandringham Estate as a building has been renovated into a holiday retreat. It was confirmed this week that the historic Water Tower building on the Norfolk estate, owned by King Charles, has been renovated into a place where guests can stay.

The tower on the estate was originally built in 1877 to supply water to the royal home. It has now been restored for guests to stay in. A video of the inside of the tower has been shared on the Sandringham Estate social media account confirming the exciting news.

The social media post read: “THE WAIT IS OVER…Introducing The Water Tower.

“Rising majestically above the Norfolk countryside on the historic Sandringham Estate, a remarkable piece of Royal history is being unveiled for a new chapter.

“Built in 1877 to provide fresh water to the Royal residence, this extraordinary Victorian landmark has been thoughtfully restored into an exceptional retreat for two, bringing together Royal heritage, architectural grandeur and breathtaking views.

“Designed by renowned engineer James Mansergh, the Tower’s distinctive neo-Byzantine architecture, circular form and intricate brickwork have stood proudly above the Norfolk landscape for almost 150 years. A landmark transformed.”

The renovated tower is intended to host just two guests at a time, and is advertised as a couple’s retreat.

It is spread across multiple levels, with three floors in total and a rooftop terrace with views across the Sandringham Estate. The property also has a private enclosed garden just for guests to use.

Many people seem excited about the new retreat, with loads of people commenting on the Instagram post. One person wrote: “What a beautiful idea, congratulations King Charles.”

Someone else said: “It’s beautiful!!”

Another person commented: “Looks dreamy.”
