A$AP Rocky is busy handling three different personalities as a father.
The “I Smoked Away My Brain” singer first became a dad in 2022, when he and longtime partner Rihanna welcomed their first child together, son RZA Athelaston.
The couple, who started dating in 2019, have since welcomed son Riot Rose, in 2023, and daughter Rocki Irish, in 2025, and a year into being a family-of-three, the rapper is starting to notice his three kids’ different personalities.
Speaking with Vibe Magazine, Rocky, whose full name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, gushed about fatherhood, and gave insight into how his three children are different from each other.
“My second child, he is very, very, very intelligent, he reminds me so much of his mother,” he shared, adding: “My firstborn reminds me of me, keeps to himself, [he is] a real introvert.”
“The daughter, she just runs the show,” he said of little Rocki, who, born September 2025, is nine months old.
Then reflecting on his approach to parenthood, especially raising boys, he shared: “I want to make sure to teach my boys discipline, keep them grounded and keep them humble as much as possible,” noting: “Because they could be considered nepo babies and [expletive] so I just don’t want them on that [pedestal].”
“I just got to make sure they chill with their cousins,” he continued, referring to them as “the rough cousins who are “going to keep them on their toes.”
“Being emotionally present, emotionally available, receptive, still endearing, but not only that, loving,” Rocky further shared about what fatherhood looks like for him,” emphasizing: “That’s easy. That’s me all day. That’s just me.”
“It was just so exciting because you just don’t know what to prepare for,” Rocky then shared about when he first became a dad.
“You don’t know what’s to come, so the second and third time was really similar to the first experience,” he went on, looking back on Rihanna’s three births. “We were laughing while she was in labor, literally laughing and cracking jokes and [expletive].”
Rihanna has similarly gushed about motherhood, describing it as “legendary” to British Vogue in 2023. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” she said, adding: “You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before — but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because … because it doesn’t matter.”
