Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has confirmed Lisa Swain’s role in the show’s new murder mystery storyline – backing her to crack the case.
Lisa’s life is about to take a dramatic turn as she’s called upon to help investigate after one familiar face is found dead.
Earlier this year, Corrie announced plans to kill off a villainous character – with Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh and Theo Silverton named as the five possible victims.

Fans get their first hint of the storyline later this week, when a loud scream is heard during Lisa and Carla Connor’s wedding. Next week’s episodes then rewind to explore each possible outcome in turn.
Speaking exclusively to us about the big story, Vicky explained: “Lisa will be there to show support as a mother because Betsy finds the body. But there are also potential changes to Carla and Lisa’s honeymoon and the plans that they had.
“Lisa booked the time off, but she will also be needed at work, so she’ll be stepping back into DS Swain… or the new DS Lisa Connor-Swain!”
She continued: “Lisa has felt quite disjointed where work is concerned. She’s felt under pressure, so she’s itching to get back out there.
“It’s extremely complicated because there are so many people in the frame. Where do you go from there? It’s going to be a long investigation, but that is exactly where she wants it to be. She doesn’t want a quick nick, even though she’s under pressure.”

Lisa and Kit Green’s work will also be overseen by a new face at the police station, who’ll surely want to stamp out all of the corruption and dodgy dealings we’ve seen over the past couple of years.
“DI Costello is no longer there and quite right too,” Vicky told us. “So there’s a new DI who wants to do everything by the book and is putting pressure on – not just on Lisa but also Kit and everyone who’s in the station.
“It’s also important to her, because this is on her watch. So no matter how long it takes, she will get there in the end…”
